Fypon Introduces New and Improved PVC Column Wraps
May 22, 2007 - Award-winning PVC Column Wraps by Fypon have been redesigned to make installation even faster and easier for building industry professionals. A new patent-pending design now uses a cleat that never touches the center post, allowing for flexible wrap positioning.
“We’ve taken a wonderful product and made it even better," says Tina Mealer, marketing manager for Fypon. “This change allows for free movement of the wrap around the post to create the best alignment of the columns in relation to each other and in alignment with the porch."
The new advantageous feature of the PVC Column Wraps make it possible for builders and remodelers to line the column wraps up perfectly, even if the support structures are not exactly parallel to one another. A second advantage of the floating wrap is that, since the wrap does not touch the support post, if the structural post (which is usually pressure treated lumber) twists over time, the shape of the wrap will not be affected.
The newly-designed PVC Column Wrap from Fypon installs even faster and easier than the original wrap. After attaching the top and bottom cleat the unit is screwed to the floor and ceiling. This speedier process can be achieved in 15 minutes or less.
