MAUMEE, OHIO – From custom residences to commercial projects, MCI Design-Build Corporation has made its mark on the southwest Ontario area of Canada for 28 years. One of the factors making this stand-out company a success is its ability to insightfully match up building products for each of its unique projects.
"We form a partnership with each of our clients and make product recommendations based on their individual and specific needs," says Scott Masse, vice president of operations and project management for MCI Design-Build Corporation. "We're fortunate that our clients range from medical/dental facilities to multi-franchise retail roll-outs to church groups and individual private project owners. Treating each one's priorities personally has brought our firm success for more than a quarter of a century."
One of the secrets to success for MCI is their ability to identify building products that perfectly accent a project, like those from Fypon, a manufacturer of top-quality polyurethane millwork and trim products.
"We recently used Fypon brackets, mouldings and trim pieces on the Market Source Dental building in Goderich, Ontario to accent the exterior building design," says Masse. "These detailed millwork pieces perfectly accent this structure under the eaves and above the windows. Because they're made of polyurethane, these pieces resist moisture, rot and decay, so the project owners will enjoy years of low-maintenance success with these pieces."
MCI has been using Fypon products on projects for about four years, and according to Masse, the investment is worth it. "These pieces stand up in a superior way over stucco items," says Masse. "There is a bit of a learning curve to laying out the product and hiding the fasteners, but, like most new products, once you work with it for a period of time it becomes more efficient. We've discovered that installing these pieces definitely has a solid return on investment."
In addition to the dental facility, MCI has recently used Fypon trim pieces on a custom home and has plans for using the durable products on future commercial projects. "We have another medical building that will require some flat trims around the top of a parapet and a band around the middle of the building," says Masse. "Given our past success with Fypon products, we're definitely considering using them again for this project. The versatility and interesting styles of the mouldings and pieces, along with the product's reliability, keeps us coming back to Fypon."
